Situated in the historic town of Nozawa Onsen, this century-old timber hotel is undergoing a complete renovation. Tucked away in the heart of the city, directly across from the main Ooyu onsen, this project prioritized attention to every detail and material.

Honoring the traditional Japanese Shaku measurement system, the original columns and beams were retained wherever feasible. Materials and finishes were carefully considered to harmonize with the traditional Japanese architecture, imbuing the hotel with a sense of Wa (和) while also appealing to an international clientele.
