The interior of Tori Co. draws inspiration from the relaxed, urban atmosphere of traditional yakitori stalls lining the streets of Japan, as well as the newer, more developed yakitori restaurants.
Central to yakitori grilling is the traditional uchiwa, which plays a vital role in controlling the coal's temperature and cooking climate. The uchiwa becomes a key design aesthetic, with the interior fabric created by a uchiwa screen wall. Furthermore, the interior design showcases raw Japanese finishes and materials, incorporating the traditional Aizome color as the primary accent hue. Through the use of warm wood, linen-based norens, and paper-based uchiwas, the intention is to create a warm ambiance for visitors to enjoy their dining experience.
